From the employer
The Role
As the SEO & AEO Specialist, you own Aiven’s discoverability in the age of generative AI. You are a modern search strategist who understands that search has evolved into a complex ecosystem of Generative AI, LLM citations and traditional search. Your mission is to ensure Aiven is the primary source of truth for both traditional search engines (Google/Bing) and AI answer engines (Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude). You are a high-velocity, technical marketer with a growth-hacker mindset who understands the mechanics of traditional search models as well as how LLMs and Search Generative Experiences (SGE) crawl, index and cite source material.
Key Responsibilities
- Generative AI & LLM Optimization (AEO): Execute specific technical strategies to ensure Aiven is cited as the primary authority in AI-generated answers. This includes managing llms.txt and robots.txt for AI crawlers and optimizing technical content for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows.
- Technical Search Engine Optimization: Own the traditional SEO roadmap, focusing on site architecture, high-speed JavaScript rendering, and Core Web Vitals. You ensure Aiven ranks #1 for high-intent technical queries related to all product domains.
- Schema & Structured Data Architecture: Implement and manage advanced JSON-LD and Schema.org markups. You will build the machine-readable "Knowledge Graph" that allows AI agents and search bots to explicitly understand Aiven’s product features, pricing, and technical benchmarks.
- MarTech Analytics & Attribution: Utilize a modern stack (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Scrunch) to analyze our global visibility. You will go beyond clicks to measure Share of Model Voice and AI Citation Frequency, proving how search drives qualified trial signups and enterprise leads.
- Agile Growth Hacking: Monitor LLM and search algorithm updates daily. You must be able to rapidly pivot our technical strategy to take advantage of new AI search features (e.g., OpenAI Search or Google SGE) before competitors react.
- Specialist Agency Management: If required, lead and direct boutique SEO/AEO agencies. You will define their technical deliverables, manage their output, and ensure their advanced tactics are integrated into our broader marketing engine at a high pace.
Ideal Candidate:
- 4+ years in technical search marketing: Proven experience in B2B Cloud, Data, or Infrastructure as bonus. You must be able to navigate the technical complexities of the modern tech stack.
- You are an expert user of LLMs to automate SEO tasks (e.g., Python scripts for bulk metadata, AI-driven content audits, and intent mapping).
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and advanced SEO suites. You know how to connect organic discovery data to actual revenue and pipeline in the CRM.
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how modern web frameworks impact search bot crawling. You are comfortable collaborating with Web Engineering teams to deploy site-wide technical fixes.
- You are a data-first marketer who can quantify the ROI of zero-click searches and AI citations to the executive leadership team.
- You thrive in an environment where search rules change weekly. You don't wait for a playbook, you build the experiments that define the new standard.
- Experience managing specialized external consultants to ensure high-velocity execution and technical accuracy.
