  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, detail management, and deadline skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Graphic Designer will work on the development and execution of creative design concepts across print and digital platforms for various departments within the LA Kings organization. This role partners with the Manager Graphic Design and marketing teams to bring campaigns and initiatives to life through compelling visual storytelling. This includes the creation of creative assets, digital content, and website experiences from concept through final execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create original design assets from provided materials or develop concepts from scratch as needed to support LA Kings business initiatives.
  • Design and produce a wide range of marketing materials, including digital ads, social media graphics, email campaigns, websites, landing pages, banners, ticketing collateral, guidebooks, posters, and other branded assets. Collaborating cross-functionally within the organization to ensure creative needs are met accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Design with quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications and brand standards while working within deadlines.
  • Work directly with counterparts on content, production, and game presentation teams to continually elevate the brand output and live game experience.
  • Serve as a strategic creative partner to Marketing stakeholders in the development and execution of social, web, and email campaigns that drive audience engagement, brand awareness, and incremental traffic to LA Kings digital platforms.
  • Mentor graphic designers and foster a collaborative team environment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The Sr. Graphic Designer must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skill and abilities:

  • Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Track record of demonstrating strong graphic design skills, and have strong portfolio.
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to deal with different personalities.
  • Strong knowledge of social media best practices and creative trends.
  • Strong attention to detail, and has a pulse on current/trending design styles.
  • Excellent layout, color theory, and typography skilled.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and turn projects around quickly.
  • Knowledge of sports industry preferred.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field

Experience:

  • 4+ years related work experience in sports and/or entertainment preferred 
  • Digital Media work experience preferred
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization preferred

Payscale: $71,132.00 - $81,000.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
